Most of the glass countertops I have seen are clear or blue. This clear looks good here and it doesn't make the space too modern looking.
You can break up a solid tile backsplash by adding a decorative base.
I like how the color used to distress the cabinets is also in the countertop. You could find a countertop that has "griege" and cherry.
