Steel-panel wall options: what type of steel you want to use. hot rolled (which has mill scale and creates a visual texture, I could send you a picture) or what's call P+O (pickled & oiled) which gets you a more consistent color and is what is on the wall in the photo. next would be size of the panel(s) and method of attachment to your wall.
You can use thin rolls of wood to veneer a wall and add the warmth of wood to a space.

"Not only does the wood paneling brighten and blend, it also conceals some of the structural obstacles. Unusual niches became a multitude of closets cleanly hidden behind wooden doors in the paneling. The nearly invisible doors are constructed with three-quarter-inch pieces of wood on top of a half-inch substrate. Since the doors are nearly 8 feet tall, they were made this heavy to prevent warping. Pivot hinges and hidden edge pulls keep the cabinetry seamless. "
