I don't like the staircase but I include this as an example of how the landing at the top of the stairs could look.

I love the windows here. Something like this on the south side of the house, top floor, would be great.
Another idea for the south wall upstairs is a series of vertical windows like this - three or four across the full depth of the wall.
Another idea for south wall upstairs with one big picture window.
One idea for the loft ceiling upstairs.

One idea for the loft ceiling upstairs - specifically if beams are required.
An idea for loft ceiling upstairs.
I want to use wainscoting throughout the house (apart from wine cellar and spa), maybe this style or maybe beadboard, partly so we can hide the wiring under the panels as nothing can go into the walls in this old house very easily. It should match the molding around the ceiling and the window trim.

This is the fireplace I want upstairs that will go between the living room and master bedroom.

I like the way these doors look with the trim, we'll do something like this with our doors and transom windows upstairs.
For the upstairs floor, using engineered wood, we'll choose a stain and style something like this.
Example for shower in guest bathroom (the one across from guest bedroom) - not the sinks in the corner, just the design of the large open shower.
Example of how freestanding tub will look in front of balcony door in master bedroom.
Example of how freestanding tub could look in master bedroom (although window would be a door in our case).
This is how I want the sunroom upstairs to look, although of course in our case the room would be much smaller than this. Same basic idea though.
This is how I want the sunroom upstairs to look, although we have a fireplace and it's in a different location, but this is pretty close.

I love the big windows. Idea for south wall.
This is a very good outdoor fireplace for the courtyard. This is also a nice idea for the patio floor surface rather than flagstones, it's very Portuguese style.
