The flooring is just white porcelain hexagonal tiles (1" or so) with some of them removed from the mesh backer and replaced with black hex tiles to make the flower shape. The scale and of the pattern was determined by keeping one sheet intact and then inserting the black tiles into the next ( I.e. Every other, instead of each one ). They were bought at Ciot in toronto, but many tile stores sell this type of tile.
