Two islands? Is that excessive? I like the stainless finish on the closer one too.

glazed basalt countertops! Have you heard anything about these?

This was informative on how we were going to transition from the regular height ceiling in the kitchen to the vaulted family room. I would like to use the ceiling to help define the space rather than have just a big ass room with a kitchen on one end.

I actually like this one more than I thought. Bringing the stone into the kitchen really looks nice with the modern cabinets and furniture.

I like the light in here. Cabinets are too cold though. Like the floor as well. I think matte steel feels more welcoming and substantial than chromed metal.
PS I love the wood burning stove but pretty sure that's not happening around here!

I actually like the use of the contrasting wood on the painted cabinets. Not so much on the hood though. Not sure this is the perfect execution of the idea, but something to explore.

This is kind of what our space will be. But even longer. I'd like a little more drama in the flooring. Stone on the walls is a bit too much. Not a huge carrara fan. Like the combination of canned and pendant lighting. Overall light is nice.

some detail in the cabinets but still clean and modern. Floors are dramatic and counter the pristine cabinets and counters. Not sure I like the countertops as much. Maybe something more contrasting.
