This sink is probably too large for the space, but I would like a small sink in the island for vegetable and hand washing, and to locate the purified water spigot

What is this island cupboard made of? Tinted concrete? If it's easy to clean, might be a way to break all the brown. Its also a little more subdued than paint

How is the support beam on the south end of the kitchen being dealt with? If it is dropped down from the ceiling, would it make any sense to add a few more in the kitchen, paint the ceiling green, and create a beam look in the kitchen?
I love this green coming in the window balancing wood. It would be a good color to bring into the room to go with all the brown wood. Also an example of open shelves in front of a window. Consider for east side sink window, maybe not in front of the sink, but on the sides. This wood is lighter than Martin likes.
Might want to paint green behind the open shelves.
I'm moving away from Marmoleum in the kitchen. I think it looks better to have wood running through the entire space
Would it make sense in the corner under the stairs to have a cupbaord such as this. I can't stand those corner turning things.
Might consider windows behind open shelves on the east side sink window.
