Split Level Remodel Ideas

If we buy a split level, what can we eventually do to remodel?? Enhance kitchen space, add breakfast nook with tons of light and seating?? Maximize closet space by built in organization. Work with 60s style bathroom. Eventually add a master bedroom with bath down the road.
