Lovely setting (not necessarily all the wood or colour) but if you are going to have reading nooks, this window seat is lovely. A must is a lovely view with windows that open and really comfortable cushioning ... and a cat :-)

Nice - but with reallllly comfy cushions to snooze on though - recessed down into the under cupboard - under cupboard as storage for pillows, coloured cushions and throws etc. Perhaps windows that open out to verandah.

This pic picks up on green and orange colour theme. The purple would need to be taken from hue seen in sandstone boulders at back of house - i.e. not garish like original IDOJ. Gold and jewelled walls and ceiling could be recreated by very light hued type sheers. A couple of small, subtle pics of Jeannie and other women who influence me would be a must! And completely private i.e don't even know it is there, tucked under stairs say, with no handled doors.

Great use of space near stairs which is often under-utilised. A little, hidey study-com-snooze-nook - with a secret window and under bench of course (I can see lovely little streams of afternoon sunlight coming through in winter, shelves for books and small desk area for reading and writing and arty party childhood play stuff - purely innocent indulgence - georgie :-) See I Dream of Jeannie pics!

While would not suit our new build - this nook is Well thought through in terms of utility and aesthetics - just feels like the perfect place for breakfast, morning paper, TV in the background and rays of morning sun. Nice job.

I like this corner style nook i.e. with one side open (versus a two sided, enclosed nook). With the open plan kitchen and position I have in mind for the new build, I see it diagonally opposite the Kitchen island, over by the front glass wall of the house, positioned to get the morning sun and overlooking the bay. Want to get that cozy feel though. Might need for one side of the nook to back onto a room divider (with books on the other side of the divider) so that you get the view from both of the right angle bench seats. Thoughts require - and of course use under benches for storage.
