Love the "Dragon's Breath" color from Benjamin Moore with, I think, Windham Cream. Very interesting painting treatment: dark under soffit and on the inside of the brick adjacent to door.

The sweeping line of the roof

The color and material contrast of the stone, the woodwork and the glass is so inviting.

Clean functionality of the chain to bring water from the gutter to the ground where there is a catch basin. Great use of stone in the landscape. Interesting use of Mission style with mid-century elements.

Q

Photo

Thoughtful and stylish footing for supporting post to keep it off the wet ground. Court yard forms a private area. Material choice allows for ample parking, without screaming parking.

Steeply pitch roofline, arts and crafts details, elegant stonework and the scale of the buildings.

Q

Photo

Great example of color blocking.

Q

Photo

A pleasing example of mixing siding materials: board and batten, clapboard, standing seam metal roofing, and brick.

Q

Photo

Great color combination. Notice the blue porch ceiling. Painted brick looks good. Love the roof color with this unusual green siding color. Love the light grey porch floor, too! What a welcoming facade.

Photo

Original idea for awning.

Q

This archtect is really creative! I like that he boxed in the existing posts with Hardie material rather than ripping them out. Offsetting the front door and using chain link fencing on the front porch are other inventive ideas. I am not a fan of painting brick, but I have to admit it does make sense in this case. Finally I like the way the front walkway was changed to go with the new more modern feel. All in all a great transformation!

Q

Photo

Great color combination of dark green on mutins, ivory on trim and gray on shakes.

Q

Photo

Gorgeous Dutch Colonial. Like the upper shakes with the lower level clapboards.

Q

Photo

concrete pation and exterior colors.

Q

Photo

Love the pattern of the walls. Is this just plywood or something special?

Q

Photo

What don't I like about this craftman's home? Let's start at the top with the half moon gingerbread detail supported by simple brackets. The gray monochromatic scheme lets the details shine. Simple landscaping frames the house. Clear house numbers easily seen from the street and a mailbox mounted is at the right height for form and function. The red of the front door is echoed in the flowers.

Q

Photo

The pale warm wood color of the shakes with the gray roof and white trim is very appealing. Pale blue porch ceiling, fern plants and white rockers suggest a peaceful place to sit and relax,

Q

Photo

If I ever down-size to a ranch, I think I might steal this great idea for a front porch and added entry. What a creative solution! The homeowners musts be so happy!

Q

Photo

Great light pale gray on board and batten siding with mid-tone gray on the gutter system and roof trim. Attractive spare exterior.

Q

Photo

The warm red of this house trimmed in white is so charming with the lush green plants.

Q

Photo

I could spend some time here. Using a heavy weight square painted lattice for the crawl space under the porch is a great idea.

Q

Photo

Love the palette of this southern ranch. Dark, dark grey for the posts, railing and trim, deep warm red for the window sashes, and a grayed mid-tone brown for the roof and siding.

Q

Photo

This house is a work of art!

Q

Photo

I love the pumpkin stain on the shakes with the deep green shutters and white trim. Notice the pale blue of the porch ceiling. Just lovely.

Q

Photo

Great color combination. Like the treatment of the space under the porch.

Q

Photo

Charming addition. Great color combination of soft yellow with the brick and gray roof. Wonderful porch.

Q
