Extend high shelf along north wall around east wall up to window (maybe even across window). Build custom shelving unit below to fit above table, for cookbooks and organizing (calendar, receipts, train and ferry schedules, keys, etc.) Noticeboard can be placed in space behind door where it opens. Very flat custom shelving can go in there too.
Build very shallow (six inches) pantry cupboards along north wall, stopping where door opens. Deep enough to fit a large Mason jar. Wire baskets for holding onions, potatoes, etc. Need to figure out how to store bananas!
Have a flip-up or pull-out ledge to set things on.

There should be a thin metal rail above the sink, with S hooks for hanging stuff like the scraper and bottle brush.
Built-in bins for rice and cereals would be nice.
Deepen windowsill to make more room for Eddie!
Hooks for storing pans on the side of the fridge?Need storage for different sizes of plastic bags.
