Underlit counter

Sleek top floor terrace

Q

Love love love this

Q

Incorporate as much glass as possible

Q

Photo

Again, too contemporary but I love the idea of disappearing glass doors that maximize views and indoor outdoor living

Q

Photo

I realize that these glass enclosed wine display cabinets are very fashionable and probably a passing fad, but I have to admit that I love them and add a contemporary design element that I think would be consistent with our concept

Q

Photo

Like the way, the doors fold back and open up the space to make seamless indoor outdoor living

Q

Photo

A bit too vertical, but it shows how to integrate a garage in a pretty attractive way

Q

I can imagine from a marketing perspective that people walking by the Dell/contemplative center and seen that upper level terrace would be envious. I would like to figure out a way that they could have the same thing.

Q

Photo

I’m not crazy about the overall exterior aesthetic, but I do like the covered terrace on top

Q

Photo

Obviously, this echoes the rotunda, not a bad thing

Q

Photo

Cool view of the interior staircase

Q

Another way to maximize usable square footage, which is super private and affords amazing views is with really well designed rooftop, terraces, possibly even including elegant, hot tubs, and fireplaces

Q

Photo

Not generally a fan of circular staircases, but these are quite elegant and maybe occupied less square footage or can be integrated in a way that maximizes elegance and makes the residence super unique perhaps with Glass balustrades

Q

Photo

Narrow and vertical but elegant. Maybe our town houses should have less of a French feel like this and more of an Italian feel to acknowledge Dr. Lambeth’s fascination with all things Italian

Only thing I like about this is the windows over the kitchen, cabinetry, maximizing views

Q

Photo

Love this aesthetic with the French windows and doors across the entire façade

Q

Photo

Of course, comfortable with old town Alexandria architecture having lived there for 30 years; maybe we do a hybrid with exterior stairs down to the ground floor and up to the first floor on the front façade and the rear façade add exterior stairs up to a second floor balcony

Q

Photo

For the east side townhomes, these would be the patios on both East and west side façade on the ground floor but probably shrunk in size to only be 8 to 10 feet deep

Q

Photo

Ironwork is too fanciful, but like the integration of balconies and exterior stairs; view elevator as daily access between floors, but stairs on exterior are for emergencies or exercise in good weather

Q

Photo

Built-in banquettes as space saving device

Q

Photo

Maximizing views from the kitchen

Q

Photo

Saving interior space by placing stairs on exterior

Q

Photo

Rooftop Terrace; but I would have balconies off the front and back

Q

Photo

Exterior staircase, accessing both levels, thus reducing the need for interior staircases

Q

Large glass panes
