Arabella Kitchen Inspo
S-This is the bar that corresponds to our favorite kitchen. I like the combination of closed cabinetry and open shelving in a finish that matches the kitchen for cohesion. I would try to add some clever lighting here as well as a sink with reverse osmosis for purified drinking water/coffee/tea. Thinking of also having extra refrigeration/freezer drawers in bar for ice, cocktail mixers, iced tea pitcher, milk for coffee, frozen fruit for smoothies, protein shakes, and other miscellaneous beverages and then use the beverage cooler for wine beer cans of soda, sparkling water, etc. The idea here is that the main refrigerator is for food and the bar contains all the beverages. I would also like to have small electrics for beverages like the vitamix, coffee pot and electric tea kettle on the bar to keep the kitchen cleaner. I prefer the bar to be in the kitchen where people congregate and where we will use the island for serving. Prefer lower drawers over cabinet doors. Also need trash incorporated. Need place for extra recycling for gatherings to hold bottles and cans. I think guests would feel more at home helping themselves to drinks in a bar in the kitchen rather than in a d...
Shaker modern
These are cleaner but not completely flat panel which I don’t care for in a kitchen. I thought of this as “minimal shaker”. Like the tone of the wood. Warm sophisticated clean but not stark.
Shaker modern
We like the upper cabinets that touch the hood. Quartz countertop run up to lower level of hood and lower end of cabinet.
S-I pulled this photo out of an organic minimalist contemporary home that’s really interesting. My eye went straight to these great counter stools but I also like the kitchen. I don’t really care for white cabinets or waterfall islands but I like the vibe of this softened kitchen in a very contemporary home. It’s clean and serene, sophisticated but not stuffy. There is symmetry here that is pleasing. B- I also don’t like white cabinets but I like taking them to the ceiling. I like the mixture of contrasting tones of cabinets. I like island storage because it adds interest with the knobs on it.
S - My favorite kitchen. Serene, transitional really but modern feeling too. Timeless, clean, sophisticated but inviting. Great counter chairs but could be more modern. I would probably go more modern with the pendants. I love mixed hardware and plumbing finishes when it’s done well. The use of knobs on cabinets feels fresh and minimal and allows the cabinetry to shine. The cabinet finish color is beautiful as is the floor. Like contrasting island. Enough contrast but still soft. Relaxing to the eye but with good depth. I like mixing shades of warm white, black and browns with pops of accent color. Brad - If I had to pick one photo for inspiration this would be it. Subtle mixture of tones, textures and finishes feels inviting. Like black countertop for contrast and visual interest.
Too modern farmhouse but I like the warmth and brightness. B - I like the symmetry of the top stack with the windows grids along with the color and tones of the wood.
Warmth mixed finishes
B - Varied cabinet sizes and depths. S- This is a good example of why flat panel cabinetry doesn’t appeal to me… it’s just flat. I prefer depth and visual interest. Especially in a kitchen when there is so much of it. I like flat panel in bathrooms where you can create more texture and depth with finishes.
Mixed finishes
Pretty light backsplash countertop contrast
Cabinets carried to dining room bar
Symmetry
Storage?
B - Idea for bar storage.
Beverage cooler
Island seating
Warm contrasting island clean no to apron sink. Brad - Like subtle contrasts and combo of woods. Like the island color.
Warm don’t like hardware
Warmth clean symmetry don’t like gray painted cabinets. I like how upper cabinet door style echoes the window pane style. Trying to stay away from farmhouse. I like flat panel in bathroom but not in kitchen.
Warmth texture contrast
Seating facing
Table for 2
Seating facing around island
S- Conversational Island seating, warm, sophisticated, relaxed, but too rustic contemporary. B- Agree and also not enough contrast. Cabinetry is too sleek.
Island seating
Beverage in island seats 2
Deep bar sink
B - I like nothing about the look and feel of this kitchen. Saved for storage on both sides of island.
Dyson
B - Good idea for 9' ceilings and cabionets
Lights under island
Integrated cutting board
Knife and cutting board
Table perpendicular to island
S - I have struggled to find kitchens that have the feel that I like. This is warm, contemporary, and sophisticated with a contrasting island but too farmhouse and gray/ashy. Floor and cabinets too alike in tone. Counter material too busy and I don’t like waterfall. This feels sophisticated but too formal. The chandelier is too much for me. I prefer a relaxed sophistication with warmer tones, clean but soft.
Should pulls on drawers be offset higher than center?
