Reply to: @chispa I agree that would have been lovely. We are planning to add transom windows in the living room to open up the space since it has vaulted ceilings & low windows as well. What I really really wanted to do but ultimately couldn’t due to larger home layout issues was flatten out the door to the pantry so it wasn’t at an angle. The kitchen and pantry are next to an angled hallway that would have been much more than we were prepared to take on. I am planning to get rid of all the diagonals that I can in time though. :/ But to any builders: Please do not build diagonals into homes! They are awkward to design around and a PITA to change later.

Reply to: Hi Jilly! Thanks so much for your comment! Yup, something needs to happen with the rug. The furniture was just rearranged multiple times - to paint and then to put up the roman shades (today) but I'm with you- it will look better with the rug tucked under. Thank you so much!

It was fine before, I agree, but now it looks fabulous. Cozy sophistication, and very pulled together. Unasked for advice, ignore if not interested … what do you think about pulling the rug under the sofa a bit? Examples: It really looks fine as is, just a thought. Reply to: If you like the idea of curtains—track curtain rods. Can be mounted to wall or ceiling in a continuous line. Can even go around corners.
