Reply to: I’d put a trio of “Christmas tree shaped” trees with wonderful texture (for example hemlock, hinoki cypress, blue spruce, etc) to screen the shed, neighbor, and electrical box, staggered—then continue with large understory shrubs (rhododendron, viburnum, maple etc) to go the rest of the way. Hosta etc can decorate the front of that.

Reply to: Hi @bluemarble: just reflecting on your flower bed I realize I don't know anything 😊. But, it is a cold and rainy day here, so I have some questions for you, that might guide your planning: 1- House views. What do you want to see and from where? Birds and flowers for you? Then maybe emphasize the birdbath, by enlarging and adding color to that area? 2- Garden views. Would you want an area for you adjacent to the kids' playground? Then maybe add a screened seating area there. Or would you enjoy other things, like a herb garden instead? 3- Street views. You mentioned a joint project with your neighbor; are the electrical boxes facing the street? Then you might like something like this: Also, a larger plot drawing (one that includes where the flower bed seats: in between the 2 houses, in relation to the street, and to the walking path to the park) might help get general layout suggestions from the "pros" here ;)
