Gorgeous!
Dream fridge set up.
Like the furniture "feet". The range hood is cleverly hidden behind paneling that matches the ceiling-height cabinetry. Three pendants over the island dress up the room like jewelry. A dark base for the island and dark kitchen counters bring attractive contrast to the room.
Design your kitchen around a fireplace, or add one
Adding a lounge seat to a window, such as the one in this remodel by Koffka Phakos Design, could be a way to enhance your kitchen for guests without investing in a full remodel. Or it could be a good project to consider as part of a larger kitchen remodel down the road.
Cabinet-look trim above cabinets
Moulding to the ceiling.
A pullout chopping block (in place of a typical drawer) positioned above a waste pullout, with a simple hole to allow for trimmings to be swept directly into the bin. A great option for small kitchens, as the whole chopping station can be closed away when not in use, and the main counter can still be used for other things.
Besides looking smart, a drawer dishwasher opens up new intelligent functions. Running a full-sized dishwasher when only partially full is a waste of water, but a unit like this can wash each individual half, giving you more flexibility for the size of the load to be cleaned. Plus, you can be running one drawer while still filling another, so you can clean your often-used items now while other pieces build up a bit over time.
Amazing under-counter pantry.
Love this kitchen. Great floor plan (see the details and renderings in the story), great contrast in the cabinetry and hardware, beautiful finishes.
The baking peninsula is the heart of this kitchen. The countertops provide plenty of room for baking activities. The designers created an alcove for the stand mixer. The pantry to the right is for ingredients, while deep drawers hold muffin tins, cookie sheets, cake pans, cooling racks and other supplies. Aesthetically, the baking zone is differentiated by deep blue cabinets and brass finishes on the hardware and lighting. The ovens are around the corner at the far end of the peninsula, across from the refrigerator. Quartz is durable and makes rolling dough easy. White quartz is great because it’s easy to see whether it’s clean or not.
This particular model integrates the toe-kick drawer front right into the ladder. The entire thing folds up and hides beneath the cabinets.
Folded Up in a Shallow Cabinet Some step stools fold flat, making them easy to store in a shallow cabinet. Use the space around the island …
