the floor in the kitchen and living room is the same. If I do marmoleum in kitchen does it separate too much? Do I like separation or not?

would like butcher block for the island. Don't know about the counters
like the door sliding out of the way walk in closet that can be closed or open.
might like a panty with open shelve. makes it easy to find things. but don't want them so deep as I have now.
the farm pantry feel and shelf space with a little bit of counter space. without being the space hog a full pantry is.
nice to have a few drawers in pantry . Would baskets break down and get crappy
