#1 alternating twist/straight baluster

I like the alternating pattern of strait and twisted baluster. This one includes an "antennae" at top...what do you think? Too much?

Q

"coat of arms" decorative pattern every few feet could be a nice detail. Mine would have about 2 since it's not a long hallway.

This shows the balusters going into a horizontal bar and not directly into the floor at every baluster.

The railing cap I liked is in the photo at left, but the guy who made the exterior railing used the cap in the photo at right.

handrail, slightly deco bracket

This "S' is a nice occasional detail but I think I like the "coat of arms" shape might feel more period specific

The curly flouring every few bars might me just enough but not too much touch with a simpler straight balluster, twisted balluster in alternating pattern

Q

Simple flourish every few feet is a nice touch
