sudano My cabinets are standard 34.5" height and I have an Elkay Crosstown sink that has a right hand drain and is 9" deep under mounted in 3cm granite. The disposal is an Insinkerator Evolution Compact. The standard would have fit but wouldn't have left much room in the drawer under it. Cerused wood, which involves applying colored pigments while still allowing the wood's natural grain to shine through, is having a moment in both cabinetry and furniture, says Donna Mondi. She suggests keeping the look more tonal—like these black cerused cabinets—than contrasting. "It'll have more longevity down the road," she says.
An awkward corner can be maximized by adding in easy storage. Glass shelving, tucked underneath cabinets, gives you a space to stow glassware—and since the glasses match the shelf, the effect is nearly invisible.
