We're celebrating the first anniversary of our Lidi/Liljestaad kitchen. We're very pleased with how the hardware has held up. We not so pleased with strength of the finish of the upper doors (paint on MDF). Several of the doors are chipping paint around the edges. The panels that fill spaces and cover sides of cabinets are really bad. They ding easily and are already frayed where they meet the floor around the built in refrigerator. We used Traemand for the initial installation. They were just OK. The crew, which was experienced, had never installed cabinetry around a built-in refrigerator before, and they didn't get it right. We gave up chasing them to complete the job the right way. One thing we love about our kitchen is all the under-counter drawers. We have one filled with heavy stoneware plates and bowls, over 40 pieces, and it is holding-up beautifully. Also, the 2 15-in. pull-outs that we use for garbage are dreamy. We would definitely install an Ikea kitchen again, but we would be very, very particular in finding an installer/carpenter who could handle challenges like installing the crown molding over a built-in refrigerator next to a 2-inch spacer that begins the upper cabinet run.
