PROJECT B
Another feature wall across from stairs with reclaimed wood
If that’s a heater/fan by the under stair mud room storage, seems smart
Good looking small vanity with medicine cabinet, though Jennifer doesn’t like open storage
Like the combo of metal details with wood with character
Light wood floor and mostly drywall but rich beams and trim makes it still feel like a cabin
Lighter wood floor and drywall but warmer ceiling and trim gives a richer feel that I like
Even though there’s a fair amount of drywall and modern choices, I think you’d still describe this space as warm, cozy, natural, cabin-y. That’s the feel we’d like.
Bamboo plywood walls
I like the dark metal “old timey” ladder
Reclaimed wood feature wall opposite stairs. Seems like something we can consider!
Interesting use of excess framing lumber to add inexpensive wood element
Interesting use of plywood “tiles.” Don’t know that we would want tile shapes but interesting use of shapes that could be perhaps done differently and work
Plywood walls are well done here and the contrast with the ceiling and floors works
Example of one way to handle plywood seems (separate strips on top). Not a huge fan of this execution but could be interesting if fine differently
Good reference for plank wood ceiling paired with dry wall and what looks like plywood walls. I like how each of the three wood elements have a different color and the warmer/darker colors on the floor and ceiling
Plywood walls that accentuate the seems and add some geometric interest. (Not a big fan of the ceiling and walls all the same)
Combo of wood ceiling (western red cedar) and plywood walls (white washed ash). Interesting though seems if we’re going white on the walls we could just use drywall
Maggie said our cabin should look like this one in Yosemite. The rustic charm thing might be a bit extreme though...
Two story slant roof cabin in the snow. Sounds familiar...
Berkeley Fire Station. 20 foot concrete walls poured in redwood molds. Craftsman/modern/durable
Single slant roof/modern... YEP, THIS IS WHAT I'M THINKING!
Hidden fan. Smart design... WILL DO!
One of the few cabins in the serene lakes area that we like
Modern take on classic shape
Modern, efficient, clean lines
Smart use of small space. Like the light colors
Like Dark cabinets. Do not like open shelves
Quintessential cabin
The Chinese side of my family came to California to help with the construction of the transcontinental railroad and since it passes by within earshot it would be cool to find an antique railroad tie (ideally local) and use as exposed beams or mantle or something...
Don’t know how practical or low maintenance but like the windows on roof to take in tree views
Mix of old and new, rock and wood. And a fire pit.
If went modern, this facade could work nicely
High windows. Mix of wood, geometry and texture
High horizontal windows for light and privacy
Quintessential mountain cabin
Spiral staircase to loft
Clean and modern with classic fundamentals
Classic simple cabin with garage underneath
Wall of windows, outside in
Modern take on classic shape
Classic cabin
Rustic/modern and just enough for a weekend
Good blend of wood and rock exterior
Natural textures, classic shapes
Fireplace with a traditional aspect ratio in a size that fits the room with a simple mantle
