This layout and overall set up is perfect (including front window; pretty much excactly what you drew up; still placing the pantry door where whatever that it is in the middle.

Entryway without the step down to living room. Still would like room for our bench (~4') and at least a single door closet .
Still keeping your verision for office, stair, etc. Living room looks like it has quite a bit of seating, which is our "new" need.
