Four of these staggered against either side of the wall could work great - and can then be closed back when nothing hanging to access shelves (if we put them up at the back of the nook)

Obviously we don't need to store the washing machine, but I think turning the nook in the kitchen to an airing cupboard is great. We could add shelves and double rails for storage of sheets whilst also drying.
