This wood decking surround is nice with elevated seating area. Makes a nice transition from grass, gravel and dirt surfaces before getting into the pool.

What a great idea, didn't know it could be this simple to create water sounds with small fountains. We could find a cool looking urn or other water-holding vessel for this project while out picking this summer. In urban gardens, fountains that have a consistent trickle or splash can also help distract from the sounds of traffic and make the place feel more like a soothing retreat. You don’t need a fancy or expensive fountain to bring water to your outdoor space. A simple design using a galvanized tank, a drilled stone or paver for the water to spill over, and an inexpensive fountain pump can create a lively recirculating fountain, as pictured here.

Outdoor walkways using stepping stones and stepable plants grown between. This would be pretty from pool or deck to sauna. Wooly thyme planted between stones.

Aniston's pool is really nice mix of modern. Rich wood and black chairs are really cool.
