We’re quite lucky that we often come in at the end of the project and help bring everything together.” Most trends move in a cycle, and flooring is no different, according to Matt Francis of The Prestige Flooring Co. “It wasn’t so long ago that clients were asking us to cover herringbone floors with carpets, or to remove the blocks altogether and replace with wooden plank flooring. Now we are quoting for new herringbone floors and refurbishing existing herringbone on a weekly basis,” he says. Traditional boards are still popular but things have moved on, people are getting braver and more bold, looking for new tones, from greys to brown, and now – pattern. “Herringbone wood floors are definitely back in fashion,” he says.
