I loved Lori's scientific explanation of the contrasting trim color recommendations. I still don't understand how she comes up with it though! I'll have to read her blog post. But, what about just doing Alabaster on the trim in a different sheen? A flatter sheen on the walls and a semi-gloss on the trim?
Also, I am confused about the kitchen picture. The cabinets look like an off-white or cream with a darker glaze on them and then a comparatively whiter, cleaner looking crown molding at the ceiling. How is this picture related to your question?
I'm not an expert, just chiming in based on a little experience with SW alabaster, but as far as an accent color, I think Neutral Ground may not be the best choice with alabaster. I think NG makes alabaster look sort of - dingy. Maybe it's personal preference or maybe Lori can chime in to explain it if I'm correct. Alabaster can be really pretty with the right colors. So far for me and my eyes it seems to look prettiest with the blue-green or grey-blue-green shades. Hopefully Lori can explain that!
