We used a Kohler toilet in this bathroom. You are absolutely correct that pairing whites from different manufacturers is a significant concern! In this specific case, the toilet is on the opposite wall, facing the shower - quite far from the vanity. This gave us much more leeway in selecting whites that might not be a 100% match. I would look closely at your layout and ask yourself a few questions - is the toilet adjacent the vanity? Is the lighting consistent at both fixtures? Is there natural light in the space that will change the look throughout the day? Sometimes even whites from the same manufacturer can look completely different depending on whether they are a horizontal surface or a vertical surface as well. Most times, when all is said and done and the bathroom is complete and beautiful, you won't even notice the difference.
