Santa Cecelia granite pairing

last year

Hi,
We bought a house with a wonderful kitchen and I hope to keep most of the elements the same. The cabinets, floor tiles and the perimeter granite will stay if possible.
We'd like to update the sink (possibly leaking and has mildew around the lip) and the island counter top because of the sink. Also open to changing backsplash.
Can you please help with selections
The perimeter is Santa Celia, looking for an island top and backsplash to complete it

I would live with it for at least 6 months before spending any money.

Personally, I would have an issue with the lack of drawers and the 1990 floor tile, so I would probably take my time to plan and save for a larger remodel. In my previous house I lived with a functional, but ugly kitchen for 7 years before I did a full remodel.

    I agree with chispa.

It will be very difficult trying to your granite with another countertop. Often times people install farm style dink when they have issues with a sink. I would first explore all possible ways to just a dink.

If that is possible, I would update the backsplash to something less busy than what is there.

Pavisahi, Your kitchen is lovely! I'm envious! Mine is black and white. I prefer dark woods and warm tiles. It reminds me of a Tuscan style kitchen that was so popular in the 1990s, AND I just read an article that there is 'a resurgence in this style among Millennials. The warm, rustic aesthetic that features rich colors and heavy wood elements that reminds one of cozy old world Italian countryside.' That's a paraphrase from my memory of the article. You could choose your favorite fleck of color in the granite and look for a solid colored stone (Granite, Quartz etc.) or composite/engineered stone in a solid color. I can't see the granite details, but I am sure you could find something that would blend well and even give you a sense of personalization with your new kitchen. Would love to see what you come up with!
