Struggling to know what to buy to create the high skirting detail in the attached photo, if someone could help explain what I need to buy from the shop that would be very helpful! Thanks in advance
Ooo this is my passion - dependant on budgets this company goes all the way up to 400mm height which is is tall. I would always recommend contacting them just to clarify what the exact design looks like, because all images are much shorter and you would want to see the profile.
We had to remove some tall Edwardian skirtings and discovered they were two skirtings joined together, decorative at the top with a failrly plain base board. You might need to build out any architrave to accomodate the added thickness.
Your picture is more like low panelling rather than a skirting board. Looks bespoke and quite unusual. You can easily copy it by attaching sheets of wood or MDF to the wall via battens and then place an edging strip on top. Edging, such as you get for picture rails etc, are available at most diy stores or online.
