I have a wooden sash porthole window that has been locked closed and sealed with paint and caulk etc. I want to open it as it is in a cloakroom and the ventilation will be nice to have. Any suggestions for porthole window latches once I have managed to free it up and get it open?
A top hopper latch is what you need. That will clip it to, but it depends on whether it’s intended to be opened. If not it will need some conversion to do it.
If you look on Amazon and type in fanlight catches it will show you. You will probably also require pivot hinges which are expensive. Here’s what you’re looking for below.
To quote hubby who is a joiner it’s a darn hard job! 😄
