Loft conversion: roof pitch runs perpendicular to front door

Hi all, my partner and I are looking at a house that we might want to add a loft room to in time. However, the roof pitch (?) runs the length of the house, rather than the width of it, the latter of which seems to be more common in Bristol for older homes.

Does anyone know if a loft conversion w/ windows would be possible? (see photo - red lines show where windows would go, in contrast to houses across the street where the roof slope is opposite)

If so, would windows have to be obscure (as they would look onto neighbouring rooftops, rather than towards the back or front of the property? Is it possible to add a normal window to the 'upside v shape/gable' at the back of the property?

Hope that makes sense!

TIA x

For professional advice you can take measurements and pictures and there will be plenty who can give you initial suggestions over the phone

Thank you! We will definitely do that. I just wanted to see whether anyone had done a loft conversion with this style of roof? Haven't seen it before!

Have any of the other houses on the road, or neighbouring roads, done anything similar? Could the dormers be towards the back so that they “create the space” but the window could be in the end gable wall looking out the back?
