Window Blind Dilemma

Just wrapping up the finishing touches on our open plan living / dining / kitchen area. We have these huge sash windows that let light pour through which is great, but we need to install some sort of window blinds. Lot of choices out there and I'm not sure what would best suit. Looking for opinions.

Only requirements:

TV is on the wall on the left (didn't make it into the picture); the amount of glare that we get from the windows is incredible. Very important that we eliminate that. I don't know a thing about blinds, but my best guess is that "blackout" will resolve the issue, however I don't know if they're appropriate for non-bedroom applications. Not sure if there's an alternative.
Wife is looking for something with a very low profile (even a roller blind), as the windows themselves are worth showing off. Curtains are out of the question.
Something in a light grey to match the floor

Dimensions are roughly 110cm x 170cm.

Appreciate any suggestions :)

Gorgeous room. I think Roman Blinds look fab on sash windows. I would pick a shade like the grey sofa in a plain fabric. Or what about shutters? Pricey though.

What about something like this in the lower section, I saw it in a hotel/townhouse we stayed at in Dublin and thought it was gorgeous.

We mix treatments in the same room all the time, but this must be done carefully; be sure the color of the solid fabric coordinates nicely with the print and you should be fine as long as you "tie them together" - perhaps use the printed fabric of the roman to make a small simple valance to cover the headrail of the roller shades. You could also use the solid fabric as a banding along the sides and bottom or the roman.

You could do matching roman shade and curtains. For the sliding doors, you could consider a more substantial curtain rod so it doesn't need a centre support. That way curtain could be moved over into corner.

There are a number of other companies including bottomupblinds.co.uk. I think the sheer voiles look good but I can't find a supplier! Hopefully this will give the post a bump and a pro may know where to source if you're interested in voiles

Window Dressing, Curtains or Blinds?

Need some help choosing window dressings for my living room, pinch pleat curtains or roman blinds? I think curtains are more luxurious but they will cover wainscoting in the window & hang behind the sofa so a bit annoying for opening & closing. Any advice/suggestions on colour, fabric, texture, solid or pattern would be great and also any other suggestions for the room too

Have you considered venetian blinds?

They might well tick all your boxes.

We've had them in all of our homes and have proven extremely versatile.

I agree with E D venetian blinds would work well. I wouldn't do them in 'grey' but a whitewashed wood finish.

Shutters would look amazing. You could get them in a light grey colour if you wanted to. We had the same issue with our bay window creating a lot of glare onto the TV. We initially had blackout rollers but it felt so odd sitting there on a lovely sunny day with the rollers down, just to avoid the glare on the TV. Eventually we accepted the expense and had shutters installed, which we love! We can angle the shutters to reduce the glare but still let light in. The other benefits include privacy and they also make the bay window look very smart from the outside. You could have full height or half height cafe style (although half height would probably still leave you with a glare issue). On days when you want the lovely sash windows to be visible, you could have the shutters themselves fully open. Lots of options!
