A note to Havingfun...
Our own dear Havingfun passed away on April 13. Aprilneverends passed along the sad news that she had heard from Havingfun's husband.
I wanted to write on the other threads where the news was acknowledged...but I couldn't. I don't even know why.....
So here it sits. Just my note, and anyone else's who wishes.
ETA: Forgive me if I'm not around. I'll leave a group "thanks" here... <3

- 7 years agoI’m so sorry to hear this. She was very kind and helpful to all. I had a few pillow conversations with her in the past. Praying for her family, friends and that she is in peace and watching us from decorating heaven.

Thank you for this note, penny. It can serve as a tribute of sorts. If ever her husband drops by again, I'm sure he'd appreciate reading the kind thoughts we have for Havingfun and her family. I "crossed paths" with her briefly last fall on a thread from Secluded, if memory serves. Pillows. :) It was obvious she had a sense of humour and irreverence about decor and I admire that greatly. "the fact that your pillows don't go with your carpet shouldn't break you." Indeed, penny. Indeed. We often need that reassurance around here and I'm sure many were buoyed by havingfun's warm-hearted contributions.
My condolences and kindest wishes to her family and friends and to you, penny.

Penny, thank you so much for opening this thread. I somehow couldn't bring myself to..I don't know why..Like, there are better people to do it..better people than me.
It's so very sad to loose somebody who shines their light upon you, and even they don't know about amount of light they're spreading, but you-you know ..who you look up to..who's so special..and strong and funny and kind and just makes everything around brighter
so, like a child-I can't fully come to terms with it, not yet..indeed, how such light can die?
It is still light. Just different. and very far away. And you're still searching for it..
- 7 years agoI'm very sorry to hear that - she was a kind and gentle soul, a touch whimsical and I think found solace with her Houzzmates here. My condolences to her family and to all her friends, real and virtual.

Whenever I saw her name I always thought - oh yes, she's going to cheer me up.
It saddens me that I will never see her name again.

I'm sorry to hear it but Havingfun deserves to have a testament here on Houzz so thank you Penny for letting the community know. I didn't really know Havingfun but she seemed very sweet and so genuinely thought out her responses; especially when it came to pillows. I will miss seeing her in the comments.

Looking at her Ideabooks, you can't help but be struck with what an interested, vibrant, creative woman she was. I look at her many happy, colorful photos and think, "This was a life that was surely well lived."

I'm a reader, not a poster; but havingfun was one of the posters that to me, was iconic. When I saw that she was posting, I thought to myself "Oh good. Havingfun is here." Sympathy to her loved ones.
