Make my room more family friendly
Comments (42)Hi Janis Unfortunately I am not in the Boston area - I live in Ireland! Yes there are red items in 3 of the main rooms, the kitchen, sitting room and tv room (library) - although we have pared those back now and it's not as overwhelming. thanks for all your help everyone, i really feel like it's made a big difference and am excited to finish the tv room and then refresh the play room. do you think I should move the piano to the sitting room? and would the jazz painting work in the tv room? speak later, thanks!...See MoreNew bedroom! Comments (16)Sure sarah -- the bed is Target, believe it or not, as is the chandelier. You might even find a better deal on the lighting. Here's the rug at rugs direct: http://www.rugs-direct.com/ShopDetail/Details/160707/Surya/CandiceOlsonModernClassics/CAN1982/WinterWhiteTanFlintGray Here's the bedding: http://www.bellahomefashions.com/hotel-style-borderline-white-tan-7pc-duvet-comforter-cover-and-sheet-set-p3298.html I threw the mirror in as a splurge at $2K from Coastal Cottage, but if you keep your eyes open, you'll find something at Home Goods. Comments (4)You could do a bench with a top that opened for storage. This way family & guests have a place to sit and take off their shoes or boots when entering. You could also put hooks on the wall above the bench for a place to hang coats or keys. A second option could be a sideboard or dresser. This would also provide storage and you could put decorative accessories on the top of it and hang a nice picture on the wall....See MoreWhich mirror above the fireplace?
Comments (28)Snan, The bottom oval one in Eskandari's photos would also work in your room (or something like that). The oval shape visually gives height to the room which would work for you as well. I know that shopping around can sometimes be exhausting, but if you were up for the search that would be another option if you're not sure about the round one you have already. I would also look for something that combines the elements of your wallpaper as well as your fireplace (if you are not planning on changing it) in order to bring those together, i.e. try to bring in the color tones of the two....See MoreTruss Interiors & Renovations
