Need help updating bathroom
Comments (21)My understanding: You didn't find any problem functionally, but you feel this looks old & need some brightness & change in this. My advise: 1). Remove towel rod, shift it next to tub or behind closet & have full length mirror, which will make your space double & reflect natural light as well thus makes the space more bright. 2). Get couple of plants (small plants or bush type or creepers which doesn't occupy much space on floor but grows vertically). 3). Get some artifacts made from bright colored glass, can flower vase or wall hangings or glass tiles etc, these can be of yellow or Bright Orange color these are to be hung on walls opp to mirror or pasted(3M tape both side glued) if you are using tiles. 4). Get a mat of same color as artifacts & place between tub & closet. these all are easily done by yourself. OR if you can afford to then replace only green tiles & floor tiles if you wish to OR all tiles....See MoreChange fabric on my sofa for spring/summer
Comments (6)Are we talking about a slip-cover, or actual reupholstery? While I think a turquoise sofa would look amazing with your grey walls and white marble floors, it would be a considerable investment that might be too trendy. Case in point; I absolutely LOVED my teal leather sofa in 1990, but by 2000, was so sick of it, and asked myself what the heck was I thinking? Expensive mistake, one which I will never make again. It would be far better to stick to a neutral sofa and buy turquoise pillows, throws, curtains, a rug with some turquoise in it. These are things that could easily and inexpensively be changed out as trends and tastes change....See MoreAny Help with updating kitchen greatly appreciated
Comments (27)Hi guys, Leelee we are definitely doing the vintage bits on the wall. We actually have some vintage cereal boxes that we are planning on displaying on the shelves (filled with cereal of course)!. Sarainitaly - I'm investigating thenIkea planner but it's painful to work (or maybe it's just me!). Here's a pic of the walls totally painted green now. Think the shelves will look great along with some pictures dotted around. It's the cabinets now that will b a pain! BTW it was pure enthusiasm that stopped me waiting until the water heater came off the wall to paint - lol. I will have to paint the patch when it's off....See MoreFireplace update help needed.
Comments (4)Hi Zoe , I had to take a second look to make sure this wasn't my photo! I have the same fireplace frame and our mirrors are similar! You have great taste ;) I can't offer any advise I'm afraid, but I'll be watching closely to see if something can be done. I wondered if it was possible to sand it down and paint it white or cream maybe, but the silver pieces may pose a problem. I'm tired of mine too. Here's hoping for some inspiration.......See MoreUser
