Teal and copper

Hi, just moved in to newly renovated house and trying to decide colour schemes. Our hall is long and rather dark and I would like to paint it a dark colour for a bit of drama. Ideally "petrol" by colour trend which is a teal colour, because I think my sitting room will be in greens/teals. But we have copper lights (pic attached) - will teal go? Do I need to add maybe a small red accent (e.g.) vase or something? Or is there another colour which would be better? Should I forget dark?
