Property in France

Hi I have just brought a property in France which has some wonderful beams but a mahogany colour which makes the room very small and dark.

What do you do to create the colour and look of the beams in this project?

Hi, I didn' use paint but a transparent painting, called "lasure" (in French) "LUBERON "White Cotton" (a "lasure" is a transparent painting which let the wood grain visible) after sanding the beams. You have to sand dowm the wood to see how the natural/nude wood is. If the beams are dark after sanding (so tinted inside), perhaps you have to choose a covering painting finally. Best regards, PP
