Apartment Renovation in Dublin 6

Renovation and re-configuration of compact, 2nd floor, 1980's apartment in Dublin. The apartment was re-wired, re-plumbed and re-decorated. Interior alterations included removing part of the bathroom to create a new laundry closet off the hall, re-locating the door to the living room to allow the sofa to be placed opposite fireplace and removal of the partition between the kitchen and the dining areas.

I helped a client renovate this small apartment in 2015. Compact white dining area with oak floor, 90cm diameter tulip table and ikea chairs. Handmade white kitchen, painted mdf. Grey tiled splashback. Hanging rail by Ikea.

Before
When renovating the apartment, the bath was removed and replaced with a shower. The space saved was used to create a laundry cupboard, accessed off the hall with a washer/dryer and storage for cleaning products, ironing board etc.

The bedroom had very poor storage and was placed so as to face the door. We enlarged the bedroom by incorporating some of the hall into the space. This allowed us to create a larger wardrobe area and to rotate the bed to face the sun-filled terrace outside.

The huge problem with this room was the fact that the only place for the sofa was with its back to the light-filled terrace. A shame! We solved this by re-locating the door. This allowed us to place the sofa directly opposite the fireplace - exactly where it wanted to be.
