This small bathroom remodel transformed a dark, cavernous space with compartmentalized rooms into a spacious and balanced primary bathroom. We leaned heavily on our material choices and paint colors to retain as much light as possible to create a spa-type experience.

Calcutta marble provided the correct balance of white and visual interest and this was used in the curbless shower stall and on the heated bathroom floor in a herringbone pattern.

The two sink custom vanity has a Carrara marble counter top that transitions into the bathtub surround using a waterfall edge, and then continues to become the sill for the window. As well as additional can lighting we specified three elegant sconces to flank the two mirrors.

An elongated hexagon format tile was used for the detail strip and niche in the shower which transitions into the backsplash behind the sink. In all instances tile and stone were in a honed finish which allows light to create ambient bounce which is softer and mitigates harsh shadows. We specified chrome fixtures to contrast against those soft surfaces.
