This property contains a significant ravine area that gives the pool space a great natural backdrop and offers the homeowners total peace and privacy. There were restrictions by both the City of Toronto and TRCA, which influenced the location of the pool and extent of construction. The resulted in a simple and clean pool space that complements both the house and natural environment.

The shape of this pool called for a dual-automatic cover system. Both covers are neatly tucked beneath the natural stone coping and completely out of view. The automatic cover was especially important for this project due to the amount of trees and small animals in the yard, as well as the lack of sunlight. When closed, the cover keeps in heat and keeps out debris.

Due to the natural heritage features on this property the construction envelope was limited. The project needed to go through TRCA and various departments within the City of Toronto, including the planning committee for an exemption.
