New York: Penthouse in Round House Beacon
The Roundhouse boasts two luxurious Penthouse Suites, each featuring an open concept room with a bedroom area, living room, large bathroom and private deck overlooking Beacon Falls and Fishkill Creek. The living room area includes a sofa, flat screen TV and a wet bar fully stocked with snacks and beverages for purchase. The bedroom area features Aquatica Allegra-Wht Freestanding Acrylic Bathtub and a locally crafted and custom-made king bed outfitted with luxury linens and a super soft alpaca blanket.
New York City-based interior design and architectural practice Rockwell Group have designed The Roadhouse at Beacon Falls project for Robert A. McAlpine. The stunning New York hotel, restaurant, and lounge, which was a former mill can be found on East Main Street, Beacon, New York, US.
The Roundhouse at Beacon Falls sits on approximately six acres of land that straddles the Fishkill Creek. Although Beacon was once well known for its industrial focus, it has rapidly become a get-away for art lovers, filled with galleries and home to the legendary Dia:Beacon museum. Immersed in the landscape and culture of the historic Hudson River Valley, the city’s growth since the early 1990s has been remarkable, but throughout its rebirth it has lacked a restaurant or hotel that could capture the increasing number of visitors from the tri-state area or the growing number of residents buying second homes in the area.
The project opened in various stages throughout 2012 and 2013. The first phase of the hotel opened with 12 standard guest rooms and two penthouse suites in the Roundhouse building. The rooms feature stunning views and distinctive works of art from The Roundhouse Art Collection. The site’s former hydroelectric plant will also be restored to provide green electricity to the property. The second phase of the hotel, The Mill, consists of two historic mill buildings joined together by a glass vestibule. The Mill features 42 guest rooms with one-of-a-kind views of both Beacon Falls and Mount Beacon, a spacious lobby with reception area and library on the first level, and a well-appointed spa and gym space on the second level.
