Homely Pied-à-Terre Residence
'Design Led Approach to Overseas Relocation'
This sweet three bedroom semi detached house was acquired by an Irish family of five living overseas in Southeast Asia as their part-time home when coming back to Ireland for school holidays and family occasions.
Moving from a smaller house nearby, they contacted Oriana B for a full turnkey service including interior design, logistics support, warehousing, cleaning services, installation and styling in a ten week turnaround - just in time for a cosy and relaxed Christmas in their new home.
Thoughtfully incorporating the clients existing furniture and effects was central to the design of the space, from their artwork and accessories gathered from their years of living globally to adequate storage needs for the wardrobes of three growing children. Ensuring these pieces were packed carefully from their previous home, stored safely and installed in a timely manner was paramount to the success of the project.
As this was the family's part time residence, we wanted to create a home that was welcoming and clutter free from the moment they entered the space so no time was wasted during their visits. This involved creating clever storage solutions with both fitted and freestanding cabinetry so everything had a place, an interesting and inviting colour palette, and a considered floor plan to navigate the new house with ease.
The house itself was in good condition but needed some aesthetic rejuvenation in the form of painting and decorating including new window treatments and carpeting.
