Contemporary Kitchen Oxford
My client moved from Clapham to this lovely property in Milton-under-Wychwood and wanted something truly special for this kitchen and family living area. Changing the location from the front to the back of the house allowed them to look out to their lovely garden and keep a careful eye on their three eventful children! With the original features of the room however (it was originally the village bakery), the style of the kitchen had to be carefully considered.
Rather than going the more traditional framed kitchen route or a sleek Germanic design we proposed a very simple, soft, almost freestanding design with the integrity that comes from using beautiful materials. The kitchen was packed with appliances (two ovens, microwave, full height fridge, full height freezer, two dishwashers, hob, extractor and hot water tap) but cleverly hidden and disguised into the simplest of set-ups.
The kitchen was made completely to order from the sizing to the handle details and includes some rather special features such as integrated end panels, marble bar section and UV bonded glass shelf. In some parts a complicated design to create yet I think worth it for the beautifully simple end result.
