This Northside family needed to pack a lot of function and fun into a compact living and dining space. Custom built-ins and strategic space planning to the rescue! Our challenge in the family room: Define and ground the space, create a focal point, and design a compact but comfortable lounge area. Our wall mounted entertainment console grounds the space, and the custom ottoman tucks under nicely to save space. In the dining area, we created storage for 3 kids (essentially a mini-mudroom!), and a true dining area for the whole family that allowed for circulation from the back door.
