I’ve always wanted to book one of those canal boat cruises, max boat holds 16 people. A smaller one, have me and DH, two of my cousins, a couple of his siblings. (I would be happy to go with strangers, DH would not.) There’s a chef on board, you can ”hop off” and cycle to explore the area in spots, or dine at a canalside restaurant, and catch up with the canalboat further along. (So I don’t have to manage the locks, just help out.)

I would LOVE it if a friend of mine bought it, captained and maintained it, and I got to be a frequent guest onboard!
I’m actually not far from this boat right now, in Pezenas, in southwest France not far from the Canal du Midi.
About ten years ago I took a week long barge cruise on the Burgundy Canal and it was one of the best trips ever. It was part of a National Geographic tour, the food was amazing, and many of us on the trip got along so well that we’ve continued to be friends and meet from time to time, despite living thousands of miles apart.

Sas - I was looking at the LLBean ones too. Good to know they’ve held up so well! Do you happen to have pets? I’m curious how they do with the hair.

Fun - Yeah, my old mat was like a WaterHog type, but the hair was so bad that even vacuuming didn’t fully take care of it. I saw a reviewer of the WaterHog mats say that pet hair didn’t stick to them, so I was wondering if the material was a little different.

Mtn - Where do you get your mats?

Jilly - FrontGate was the only place I’ve even seen mention using a pad under a WaterHog. I wondered if it was just marketing and trying to sell more products.

My dining room has a collection of family delft and more recent blue and white pieces.

I follow several decor accounts on IG and often wonder how much of what I’m looking at is AI.

The changes suggested are certainly nice, but, from my eye, AI added more IG to your foyer and removed a lot of SueB from it.

Your entry has it all already! Classic architicture, great colors, rug and whimsy! I love the hall as it is better than the AI generated changes.
