I am glad that D is doing a lot better. I guess he is doing some PT as well?

My mother is living at my sister's house once again. She was discharged the first of this month. I told her "NO MORE FALLS"!

Running water (and sewer) are things we take for granted until we are without them. Best to keep them running as smooth as possible.

Get the phone (or anything else for that matter) that suits you best. You earned it from years of hard work and managing finances despite the ups and downs of the economy. This is our last big hurrah! HAHA!

While McDonald's employee didn't do it on purpose (letting go of the drinks early), she probably learned a valuable lesson. You could still get an estimate for detailing and let McDonald's write you a check. If you want to clean it yourself, that is your choice. Detailing is more than taking it to a car wash. Detailing has the experience and tools of the trade versus what you can do by yourself. I guess it really depends on how messy the car is. If it is an hour job, I would do it myself like you. If it was much more than that I would pay someone to clean it "professionally".

Do you use your gas chainsaw? I gave mine away after a few years. I hated the gas yard tools because half the time they were hard to start the next year. GRRR! Battery operated for our size lot from then on. Don't confuse a reciprocating saw with a chain saw - they do the same thing, but the chainsaw is meant for cutting trees and the like. Recip saws are great for a lot of different materials.

Oh, yeah - if you are talking about the Tibouchina pix I added, they are definitely tropical in nature. I had two for a long time (different species). I never saw this particular one that changes bloom color over 3 days. It reminds me of Brunfelsia (Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow).

I always started a week before Halloween to bring in most of my plants. There would be several very large pots still outside that I moved under the deck until I got my basement all squared away. Usually after the first frost or so, we would get a warm spell for a week or two in November (Indian Summer). This way I could have more time to bring the last of the plants during this spell.

I have an animal problem on my pothos. I noticed it earlier this summer in the pans that still had pothos in them. Every leaf would be cut off and the vines snipped every few inches. WTH! Well, yesterday I noticed a hanging pot of Marble Queen Pothos that was trimmed very short by some critter. I am thinking deer since deer poop was very close to this hanging pot. I also saw some of my pothos moss poles where the base vines are snipped. Fortunately the moss poles provide some protection for the roots that start inside the pole. I must bring in my moss poles with Pothos very soon. GRRR!

The plants at your grocery store are like our Kroger's and Target stores. Fortunately they have things I bought 2 years ago at Walmart and Home Depot. They need to get on the ball and stay current. Anyway, I usually check out the garden centers wherever we go to see if there is anything new that I cannot live without. HAHA!

Didn't the old dracaena like yours used to be called Dragon Tree or something like that? I have many dracaenas with lots of color. I also have a Cordyline (Ti plant in HI) that looks like a dracaena.

EWW, reading about the sour milk brings back vivid memories when we unloaded my step-grandfather's refrigerator (he wanted it from the old house after he moved out) and then loaded the empty refrigerator in his pickup truck. My dad being miserly turned off all the utilities after he moved out without emptying the refrigerator. The milk almost made me vomit while emptying it in the sink of my grandmother's house. Not once, but twice I had to run outside to breathe in some fresh air.

Good luck on your cleaner. I found out about Washing Powder and Borax as cleaners for the sinks, commodes, showers, etc. recently. I also stocked up on peroxide as another cleaner to keep on hand. We already had bleach, vinegar, and ammonia (we haven't used ammonia in years and we probably should throw out the rest of this bottle).

It took forever for my red lycoris to show up at the mailbox.

I must save this Philodendron 'Florida Ghost' since it was broken when I brought the pot indoors a few days ago.

Remember the canes I brought back from my mother's 2 to 3 months ago? Here they are! This was yesterday.

Flying Dragon oranges.

I want to take cuttings of these coleus

Joro spiders are everywhere! I have walked into many webs the past 2 weeks. It is an invasion!

I know you like alocasias!

Gloriosum is wonderful!

Alocasia, monstera, philodendrons

The Marble Queen pothos has been snipped/bitten off close to the pot.

see these two vines?

some varmint pulled down the vines on this Manjula pothos, too! Was it a deer or squirrels?

my mother pot of Marble Queen pothos is a fourth the size it was a couple weeks ago.

deer poop (may be rabbit, but I don't think so)

I guess philodendrons don't taste as good as pothos/

this is my mother plant of gloriosum (I have 4 other pots of it)

Last one! Jacklyn alocasia. I like this look on this leaf.
