We contracted to Mike and Mark to complete a large portion of our home addition and renovation. They were responsible for the demo, new foundation, addition, framing, and exterior finish of the house as well as a new detached garage.
From the beginning we knew that they are both passionate and invested as well as take pride in their work. This proved to be true throughout our build.
They are very hard working, and completed the majority of the project within the initial planned timeline. Most of the time they were both present daily working on our house. There was a delay in the completion of the exterior siding due to a miscalculation on the amount of siding needed. The error was made by the lumber company supplying the siding. There was an additional cost for the added siding above the original contract which we felt we came to a fair agreement on. Dumpster costs related to the demolition were higher then originally expected and we did pay for some extra bins above our contract.
The cost of our project was exact and true to our initial contract, other than above mentioned. We felt that the project was very fairly priced, especially taking into consideration the custom finishes and details in the trim.
We were working on site for a majority of the build with our own jobs, so we were present to see their skills, organization, and management of their portion of our project. They are both approachable and easy to work with. As with any build issues did arise during the project. They are easy to speak with eager to resolve any problems we had.
Friends of ours had used them for exterior siding projects and they came highly recommended. We were very happy with their attention to detail in their exterior finishes. We love our window trim, siding, custom made corbels and cedar shake. They are creative, have great ideas, and ultimately were understanding of what it was that we wanted as a finished product and delivered on that.
We were our own general contractors for our build, this required them to work closely with us along with other trades outside of their scope of the project. Many builders we interviewed would not consider this as it can be a challenge for everyone involved. Managing our own trades and completing interior finishing work ourselves was what made building our dream home an affordable goal for us. We are very appreciative of their understanding, and their professionalism as well as their ability to work alongside us.
The portions of our project they hired out such as the mason, framer and foundation/concrete work were all excellent at their trade. Many contractors who came to the house following them made mention of how impressed they were by quality and craftsmanship.
Overall we are very happy we hired Mike and Mark. We enjoyed working with them and would hire them again. We love our dream home and are very happy that it was them who made the exterior of our house look so beautiful!
