The pros who earn Best of Houzz badges displayed on their profiles is an exclusive group – only 3% win annually. Read on to learn how you could become one of them. 

Award Benefits 

Winning the validation of the more than 65 million strong Houzz community of homeowners and home design enthusiasts bolsters the credibility of the Best of Houzz interior design and renovation firms to help them stand out from the rest. Winners promote their business through the award as it drives traffic and leads from our engaged Houzz community. 

These tips for increasing your chances of becoming a Best of Houzz winner are the same best practices pros use to win clients year after year. It starts with providing outstanding service and design to your clients, and leveraging that excellent reputation by maximising your digital presence with compelling project photos and stellar client reviews that make an impact.

Who Can Win 

All professionals with a Pro Profile are eligible to win Best of Houzz awards which are given at the start of every year based on your previous year’s work. Qualifying home professionals are eligible to win one or both of these awards:

  • Best of Houzz Design: Based on the popularity of project photographs uploaded to Houzz, measured by how many times they are saved by Houzz users to their Ideabooks. 
  • Best of Houzz Service: Recognising pros who provide excellent customer service, the Best of Houzz Service award is determined by the quality of client reviews for projects from the previous year. To be eligible, you must have at least one review for a project completed over the past year and must maintain a high star rating overall.

Stars Win the Service Award 

The winners of the Best of Houzz service award provide outstanding service and take control of the review process, making it effortless for clients to share their praise and for potential clients to see it. 

The quality of the reviews from your clients for projects completed in the previous year are factored in when choosing the winners. The pros who earn Best of Houzz badges displayed on their profiles is an exclusive group – only 3% win annually. Here’s how to make the process seamless.

  • Set high expectations: Tell your clients from the start that your goal is to provide 5-star service, and check in with them through the life of the project to make sure you are still reaching for the stars.
  • Streamline submission requests: Make it simple for clients to submit reviews and for you to seek them. Using the Get Reviews tool on your profile, add the client’s email address, write a personalised note, and click 'Send'. They will receive clear instructions on what to do next. (Only reviews received directly from clients qualify for the awards).
  • Feature your best reviews: Once a review appears on your profile, you have the option to feature the best ones most prominently on your profile if you have a Houzz Premium Profile.
  • Respond to reviews: Respond publicly to the comments in reviews. This type of accountability strengthens your brand and reputation.
