“David worked on our house renovation from Jan-Jul 2016. We found him to be personable, accessible, opinionated (in a good way) and committed to delivering a project that works well and is beautiful. During the design of our house, David worked through three iterations of drawings until he and we agreed a plan. David gained a good understanding of what we needed and incorporated our needs into the plans. David helped us to recruit a very good builder. During the build it was invaluable having David around to ensure building was being done in accordance with national safety standards but also to negotiate with the builder how certain work should be done e.g. David insisted on RSJs being recessed, had strong opinions on the height of the extension, and the positioning of a roof light to achieve maximum light and aesthetic appeal. David was a great help in telling us where to source materials in particular the door but also floors, the kitchen and bathroom furniture. He renovates houses all the time so if you know what you want, he can tell you where to get it. David is really interested in producing beautiful work so he's a great person to have in your corner and is always a pleasure to deal with. We recommend highly.”

“People say that building a house is one of the most stressful things you can do and they were not wrong. We 'survived' our house build and now we can safely say that Emmett and Fingal Planning consultants was one of the very few people that gave us consistent and sound advice/service. Our build was very complicated due to many factors, but chiefly the type of the house, a low-energy "passive house"-style, the location and having several contractors involved posed the greatest challenges. Emmett guided us through the process in his trademark no-nonsense approach and we were very lucky to have him when trying to manage all the stakeholders that a build inevitably has, like authorities, contractors, neighbours and so on. During the rough patches of the project, he always stuck by his word and actually did more than he originally signed up for. When Emmett says he will do something he does it; he is open, honest, and little ruffles his feathers - a much needed attribute when emotions are high and money is low! “We have worked with both Gareth and Seamus on separate projects. They have both been exceptionally pleasant to deal with. Skilled, knowledgeable, talented architects but above all, a couple of nice, reasonable guys. They have both provided very clear and unambiguous drawings and specifications and have managed the contractor-client relationships extremely well. The projects got finished and we all parted ways as friends - that's saying something! We would highly recommend this practice to home owners and contractors (or should we be encouraging competition?!?) equally.”

“PH Design has provided a great and speedy service. A great design has been provided to renovate a 200 year old cottage to update the extension to modern standard. The old part of the cottage has been exposed and preserved to show the original features. Everything was to outstanding quality and precision and planning was granted first time.
