LOUD Architecture & Interior Design

I engaged with Kate at Loud Architects after falling in love with their unique style and design on Instagram. I had had a vision for how I wanted to change the partially sub-ground floor of my house for a long time but was worried I’d not be able to make the vision a reality and to be able to afford that. It was dark, cold, poorly laid out and didn’t make use of space and I was aiming for lots of light meaning lots of glass and cosy, meaning warm tones and underfloor heating. I finally plucked up the courage to talk to Kate and request for her to come see the property and talk me through the process and I’m so glad that I did. Right from the go Kate was reassuring but honest and practical about what I could and couldn’t do within a given budget, she talked me through the process highlighting where costs may rise and gave me all the information I needed to feel calm, prepared and in control. As a single woman in her 30s doing this alone, having Kate speak with such clarity about it all and knowing I’d have her there for support was the main reason I felt I could proceed. The designs Kate returned far exceeded my ‘vision’ for what could be done and I love the fact she threw in some designs that really pushed the boundaries of what I was imagining and at the same time would allow me to achieve the look for less. During tender Kate made sure that everything was transparent from the builders that were pitching by giving a detailed line by line breakdown in excel to what needed to happen. This was immensely useful as again it gave me a lot of control over the cost rationalisation exercises needed to make it a reality. Throughout the build she was supportive, responsive and helped me adapt plans where they needed to be. She kept me calm and was always on hand with such a depth and breadth of knowledge and experience and network of professionals to cater for everything. My only wish is that I could have had the cash to bring Kate and Loud into the interior design phase as well as her talent far far outshines mine and I still to this day consider bringing her back to put a real designer's touch on what I’ve done. You just need to take one look at her own house to know what a huge difference real design talent makes. This said, I now have my dream come true. My space is bright, warm and full of colour. I have a kitchen that is everything I ever wanted and more (Kate guided the designs of this too) and a space that’s as quirky as I am (Kate gave me the confidence to go for it). I can’t recommend Kate and Loud highly enough, absolutely exceptional.

We got on well with Kate from our first meeting. She really took the time to understand our house, our family and what we were looking to achieve from our project. She came up with a variety of designs and then helped us shape our ideas before coming up with the final plans and working with us to find our builders. We were new to renovations and she really held our hands throughout. Kate is an absolute pleasure to work with and offered fantastic value. We would not hesitate to recommend LOUD and would love to work with them again!

I heard about Kate & Loud Architects from an Instagram account I was following. I was blown away by the design & finish. I looked her up and immediately thought if we ever decide on doing our extension, I am going to use this company. Fast forward to COVID and like many, being in the house 24 hours a day with two small children in our current layout was a nightmare! In a strange coincidence, I also saw her post on a local community social media group. I thought it was a sign and got in contact. Kate & her team designed our extension and loft conversion, listening to our needs and as she puts it ‘must haves’. What’s also utterly wonderful is that they also offered an interior design service to boot! This was great as I had zero time for that. She also helped design our kitchen (literally down to the handles). She put our project through a tender process and then weighed up the submissions by price and scope according to our budget. This was great as we didn’t have the mammoth task of finding a building company ourselves! We agreed on a building firm and are currently 7 weeks into construction. We have a wonderful site manager who updates us daily and Kate comes to check all is in order and according to design every few weeks. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kate & Loud Architects!

Kate and LOUD Architects helped us realise our dream of creating a home that was not only practical for a busy family, but super-creative and lots of fun! Kate was brilliant at coming up with ideas on how we could make the new spaces (hallway, family room, shower room and utility room) playful, and helped us navigate finding the perfect building contractor for the job. Her attention to detail is excellent, and her passion for what she does clearly apparent. Special mention to Kate's ability to get a pink steel front extension through Lewisham Council planning permission!

I've had the pleasure of photographing a few of Kates projects and they have always been designed to the highest standard. Everyone of Loud's clients have always been thrilled as well with the work. Along with that Loud are a great company to work with and i'd recommend them to anyone.

We had a great experience with Kate and Costa when we were designing and planning for having a roof terrace fitted/built. They were flexible with visits and the service provided went further than we were expecting. I'll be getting back in touch with them to finish this project and won't hesitate to use them again for future, larger projects.

Kate from Loud Architects helped us with our planned refurbishment work of our North West London terraced house. We found her initially through instagram where we were looking for interesting design ideas. Upon meeting Kate, she really took the time to understand what we wanted and to understand our design aesthetic. She was able to think of some creative ideas and was very willing to be flexible to our changing budget requirements. Kate was great at handling the rather intensive communications with the council as part of our planning permission, keeping us up to date regularly while also shielding us from much of the heavy back and forth. Overall, Kate has great design ideas, clearly spends time on the details of a project and was able to be flexible when we needed to make adjustments. I would definitely recommend Kate and Loud - and we will plan on using her for our next project!

Loud have been fantastic. We employed them at a much later stage than we should have done, meaning they had a really tight timeline to work to. They gave us great advice, and got up to speed very quickly. Submitting our planning application within a week, and then quickly turning around our building control and tender documents. They're really responsive in answering questions, and explaining the process in a straightforward way, which as renovation newbies, was a necessity. We wouldn't have got to where we are without them, as there were so many things that they picked up on, that we weren't even aware of, such as party wall notices, design ideas, and ways to make the exterior much sleeker. I would recommend them very highly, and we would use them again in the future.
