About Us

Adolfo Perez Architect is a small, award-winning architectural firm practicing in the greater Boston and New England area. The majority of our work involves custom, contemporary residential projects and their interiors. For us contemporary design is less about a style and more about an attitude – an attitude that reflects the time and place in which we live and build. It is an attitude that honors the recent as well as the historical past and one that embraces technology and sophistication while acknowledging the importance and beauty of craftsmanship. We know that every project and site brings its own particular set of concerns and conditions and that each one is unique to the client and the place. We strive to uncover and enhance these qualities so we can better integrate each house into its site and make the house a true reflection of the client’s aspirations. We believe that the details of a house should add up to more than the sum of their parts and we understand what it takes to achieve this, to design a house that is modern, built well and built to last. These values shape our thinking and in turn our thinking shapes the houses we design.

Adolfo is a special person. He is, to me, the epitomy of an Architect. Thoughtful in every moment, passionate about design, culturally sophisticated and grounded in a lifetime of hard work. Harvard educated, world travelled, devoted husband and father. Adolfo is a wealth of knowledge and experience who maintains a personal connection to the construction drawings and details. The result is a portfolio of beautiful, livable buildings. He has been a pleasure to work with for more than 14 years.

Adolfo Perez has been a pleasure to work with. He has a strong vision and enormous talent and was also very open to our input, such that the ending result was a collaboration that built on his style and expertise but also felt like it was our home down to the smallest detail. He is extremely detailed in both the planning and implementation. We could not be happier with our home, which is beautiful and functional with not one inch of wasted space.

Adolfo Perez and I have worked on two very large scale projects, with duration of 5-6 years overall. He is one of the few architects in my mind who cares about interior spaces just as much as the exterior of the building. His skillful eyes are amazing at siting the building and seeing its full potential based on the view and surroundings. His attention to details, sensibility of scale and proportion are well thought-through. I have enjoyed collaborating the design with Adolfo very much and looking forward to working on another one together.

Although we interface with many architects on a daily basis, there is no better collaborator I’ve had the pleasure to work with than Adolfo Perez. His ability to anticipate how spaces will be used comes from intently listening to his clients requests and developing a strong sense of their needs. His unique design sense, which is exciting and comfortable at the same time, is magical and leaves me with a strong and growing appreciation of contemporary style. We had the pleasure of working with him on a multi-year, multi-phase project that presented many unique challenges. Each step of the way, Adolfo came up with incredibly creative solutions that all pulled together perfectly in the end. I’m delighted to offer my strongest support for his work and look forward to our next project together.

As an interior designer and a homeowner I could not dream to work with anyone better than Adolfo. He not only has an amazing sense of space, style and esthetics, but he also pays close attention to the flow and how or by whom will the space be used. This clearly translates in his choice of materials. His attention to details is astonishing and he personally follows all the steps of the process, from conception to execution without neglecting any aspects of the final punch list. And what I appreciated the most when working with Adolfo is his open minded approach. He listens to what is wanted and is able to accommodate any requests in his design. Working with Adolfo is a true collaboration and I have an immense respect for him. I will definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking to build or renovate something with an "out of the box" approach!

Adolfo designed and oversaw the construction of my home. He was a joy to work with. When we started, Adolfo reviewed my wish list and then offered several possible plans for the chosen site. I loved his design and found him on time and on budget. When costs were more than projected, he worked with me and the contractor to find ways to get back on budget. He made changes when requested and always worked with me to find solutions when issues arose. Ten years later, he's still available to work with me on renovations or replacements if problems arise. I would highly recommend Adolfo for any home design project.

Adolfo and his team were wonderful to work with. Adolfo was meticulous with the details and recommended an excellent contractor as well as other professional resources. While working on our project he was always well prepared for meetings, on time, and gave us many options to stick to the budget we had set out. He provided different ways to make changes while maintaining the criteria we wanted to meet. I am an interior designer and have worked with many architects and Adolfo has stood out in terms of balancing the aesthetic and creative aspect of the architecture with the everyday utility of the space. He is fast to respond to emails and very easy to get along with. (A plus when you spend a lot of time and money on a project!) I would highly recommend him.

As a builder, I have worked with Adolfo on numerous projects over the past 20+ years both large and small, contemporary and traditional and have only the utmost respect for his work as an architect and as a person. His understanding of the building systems and creative, collaborative solutions through the process make my job as the builder easier. I have several architects that I build for, but I am always pleased when I get the call for an "Adolfo" project.

Adolfo is an incredible architect. Rest assured you are in excellent hands after you hire him. His attention to detail is unparalleled. He listens to clients and creates an amazing design based on clients wishes and not his own personal preferences. We have used him for two projects and we would highly recommend him. If we do any projects in the future we will use him. He would be great for small renovations as well as entire home projects.

Adolfo designed the house of our dreams. We have lived in the house for the last 4 years. We love it more today than ever. The best testimony to Adolfo's work is that even with the 100's if not 1000's of decisions that go into designing and building a house, we don't think given the chance, we would have done anything differently. He listened to us, collaborated with our landscape designers and decorator and delivered an exquisite final product. Our house even ended up being featured in a highly recognized design magazine.

Commented: Are the glass walls double-panes?Yes, heating is more than w/less glass. If were to to this much glass again i would use triple pane glass (not just double).
